Enshrouded 1.0 — combat, class and magic changes

Updated: 3 min read

New level caps

  • Max character level: 50.
  • Max gear level: 55.

Keen Games explains why: "New biome means new enemy tier and max level". The developers have not named the biome yet.

Skill tree reset

In 1.0 the skill tree is reset and your points are refunded. The developers warn plainly: "Don't step out of your base without investing your points".

The first time you load the game in 1.0, spend your skill points before you leave your base. With an empty skill tree your character is much weaker than before the update.

Eternal spells

  • There are 22 Eternal spells — tier 7 versions that use no spell ammo. In 1.0 they get perks.
  • Mana costs and cast times of all spells have been rebalanced, and spells have more tier versions.

Wands

  • The wand heavy attack pierces through enemies and interrupts weaker ones.
  • Two new attacks: Aerial Wand Attack and Wand Evasion Attack.
  • Better targeting, and you can aim at barrels with a wand.

New archer skills

  • New skills: Puncture, Barrage and Survival Instinct. Keen Games has not published their exact values.
  • Some existing skills were moved in the tree, made cheaper or buffed.
  • Eternal arrows get perks. New arrows: Eternal Fire, Eternal Shock and Eternal Bone.

Aiming and movement

  • Aim assist is on by default with a controller and off with mouse and keyboard.
  • Character animations and movement are improved.

Enemies

1.0 adds new enemy variants in every faction (including the Fell and the Scavengers), among them heavy and elite ones. The new biome also brings a new enemy tier.

Fell Dragon Youngling rework

The boss has been reworked:

  • fixes for its health reset and for it getting stuck,
  • a deeper arena,
  • a new ground phase aimed at melee fighters,
  • fewer hits needed to stagger it, and the stagger lasts longer,
  • a weak spot on its back that every weapon can hit,
  • a better hitbox,
  • "significantly reducing its overall health".

The developers' goal: "a challenge without turning it into a chore". The Fell Dragon Youngling is not the final boss of the game.

Enemy health after you die

When you die, enemies no longer regain all their health at once — they recover it slowly. The developers say this is still being tested.
