Areas and order
The order follows the KeenGamer walkthrough. The middle of the game is partly open, so yours may differ. The "Toward 100%" column is the number of counted items in each area per All Things How.
| # | Area | Part | Key places | Bosses | Toward 100% |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Paris Streets | Paris | Central Sewer Drain, Prison Tower, Justice District, Palace of Justice | The Fallen, Joan of Arc, Saint Louis (Scales of Justice) | 319 |
| 2 | Holy Innocents' Cemetery | Paris | Cloister, Ossuary of the Innocents, Serpents' Lair | Medusa | 176 |
| 3 | Catacombs of Paris | Paris | Collapsed Path of Orpheus (Ferryman), Circle of Greed | Death (1st fight), Mammon | 211 |
| 4 | Main Hall | castle | Inner Courtyard, Mirror Rooms (Eleanor), Brauner's Atelier, Alucard's Tower | — | 267 |
| 5 | Library | castle | Rhetoric Shelves, Bridge of Knowledge, Observation Tower | Carmilla | 139 |
| 6 | Clock Tower | castle | Mechanic's Ascent, Foundry Apex, Clock Tower Bridge, Heart of the Clock | Talos, Isaac (2nd fight) | 236 |
| 7 | Hall of Mirrors | castle | Gallery of Eternal Night, Recurring Belfry, The Descent Into Memory, Belmont Manor | Succubus (optional) | 158 |
| 8 | Notre-Dame | castle | Transept, Great Organ Room, Choir, Chapel, Gallery of the Four Virtues | Death (2nd fight), Arthur (optional), Rose's shadow | 235 |
| 9 | Master's Quarters | castle | Sanctuary of Solitude, Court of the Night, Castle Rooftops | Dracula | 24 |
The first Isaac fight (an illusion) is on the bridge on the way to the castle. Fight details: all bosses.
Abilities that open the way
| Ability | What it does | Where from |
|---|---|---|
| Arcane Whip | swing from anchors | after The Fallen, Paris Streets sewers |
| Holy Light | destroys Chaos Shards | after Joan of Arc, Prison Tower |
| Aerial Rush | air dash | after Carmilla, Library |
| Smash | breaks blocks and cracked floors from above | after Talos, Clock Tower |
| Double Jump | double jump | Notre-Dame (Choir) |
The 100% counter counts 5 movement skills. Sources disagree on exactly where Double Jump comes from: KeenGamer describes a scene with Leon in the Choir, All Things How credits The Shadow card (from the second Death fight). Both are in the same part of Notre-Dame.
Locked gates and what they need
| Where | What opens it |
|---|---|
| Gate to the Catacombs | 3 keys: from The Fallen, Medusa (The Prophetess) and Joan of Arc (The Warrior) |
| Circle of Greed door (Catacombs) | 3 relics equipped at once: Thrilling Eye (Hospital), Oozing Eye (raised platform in the Circle of Greed), Trembling Eye (Pillaged Tombs) |
| Notre-Dame painting in the Gallery of Eternal Night | equip The Artist Arcana (Brauner's Atelier) |
| Clock on the Clock Tower Bridge | equip the Soul Harvest spell (The Shadow); without it you get the bad ending |
| Sword in the Notre-Dame chapel | equip the Fist of Talos spell (The Builder); the Arthur fight |
| Windows in the Gallery of the Four Virtues | Courage: Infernal Pyre, Prudence: Mirror Walk, Justice: Chains of Justice, Temperance: Freezing Path |
Per All Things How. The last gate, the virtue windows, leads to the true ending: endings.
How the map works
- Progress percentage is in the pause menu on the System tab, under your play time. On the map each area shows its own percentage, so you can see right away where to go back.
- The map reveals room by room as you walk through. No source mentions buying maps.
- You can place markers (up to 50), for example a gold star by a ledge you can't reach yet or a gold chest by a locked room. On PlayStation: touchpad, then Square. The "Remaining Markers" counter only shows how many markers you have left and has nothing to do with completion.
- The All Things How map shows 59 cracked walls to break. They don't count toward 100% on their own, but the rooms behind them do.
- Fast travel through mirrors and the Ferryman: fast travel.
What counts toward 100% (Perfectionist Hunter)
| What | Count |
|---|---|
| Rooms revealed | 1,306 |
| Experience (XP) statues | 147 |
| Items: 40 relics, 39 clues, 25 weapons, 5 movement skills, 6 key items | 115 |
| Doors into the background | 70 |
| Brave Heart and Wise Heart fragments | 24 + 24 |
| ATK UP and DEF UP books | 14 + 14 |
| Area exits found | 22 |
| Arcana absorbed | 15 |
| Story steps | 5 |
| Ferryman's Wharfs | 5 |
| The four virtues | 4 |
1,765 items in total, per All Things How. Not counted: secret areas on their own, Mirrors of Life, cracked walls, candles and enemies killed.
The simplest route: walk through every room of every area. The map is about three quarters of the score, and you pick up most items along the way.
Collection achievements
Some collections have their own achievements. Their numbers don't always match the 100% counter.
| Achievement | What to collect | Count | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Collector | every health and mana upgrade | 24 Brave + 24 Wise Heart | 4 fragments = 1 upgrade, so 6 for health and 6 for mana; 3 and 3 in every area except the Master's Quarters |
| The Greatest Detective | every clue | 40 | the 100% counter counts 39; the last one is usually "Kneeling is the Way" in the Looping Hallways (Hall of Mirrors) |
| Narcissus | every Mirror of Life | 34 | mirror list: fast travel |
| Armed to the Fangs | every weapon | 28 | the 100% counter counts 25; list: weapons |
| Pick a card, any card | every Arcana blessing | 42 on 15 cards | each completed Work of Mercy gives 1 blessing; The Cursed card doesn't count |
| Always the same roof | a secret in the ceiling | 1 | top of the Sanctuary of Solitude (Master's Quarters), via the whip anchors; chest with the Gloomstone relic |
Clues per area (All Things How): Paris Streets 10, Holy Innocents' Cemetery 4, Catacombs of Paris 2, Notre-Dame 7, Main Hall 6, Library 4, Clock Tower 3, Hall of Mirrors 4, Master's Quarters 0.
Relic counts differ between sources: the 100% counter has 40, the All Things How map 41 pins, TheGamer says 45. Boss counts too: 13 fights in the achievements, 14 on the All Things How map, 16 at TheGamer. Trust the in-game percentage.
Can you miss anything
- Sources don't list a single item that disappears for good. TheGamer found none.
- You have to lose the first Death fight; it is scripted.
- The bad ending happens if you use the clock on the Clock Tower Bridge without Soul Harvest. It isn't game over: after the credits choose "Resume" and you are back at the mirror in Mechanic's Ascent.
- The normal ending also lets you keep playing ("Resume"), and the true ending is still available. The Hall of Mirrors maze, the Succubus, Arthur and the virtue trials are all reachable after it.
- Sources don't say whether you can keep playing after the true ending. It is safer to finish 100% before fighting Dracula with the Absolution spell.
How long 100% takes
| Source | Time |
|---|---|
| RPG Site | about 16 h to 100%, including 3–4 h of backtracking and puzzles |
| TheGamer | about 12 h to the normal ending, 100% "around 20 or more hours" |
The PS5 Platinum needs 100% plus a run in under 4 hours: achievements.
