Does Enshrouded 1.0 wipe saves? Your character and world after launch

Updated: 1 min read

Does 1.0 wipe saves?

No, version 1.0 does not wipe saves. A Keen Games developer: "saves will automatically migrate to the new system, and you will be able to pick up where you left off". Your saves move to the new system on their own — you don't need to do anything — and you continue where you stopped.

Old character or new one?

  • You can play with your existing character in your existing world.
  • The developers suggest a new character if you want to see the world fresh — 1.0 adds a new biome and a better start for new players, among other things. It is advice, not a requirement.

Skill tree reset

In 1.0 the skill tree is reset and all your points are refunded. The developers: "Don't step out of your base without investing your points".

The first time you load your save in 1.0, spend your skill points before you leave your base. New skills and spells are listed in combat and class changes.

New character proportions

In 1.0 characters have new proportions. If you don't like how your character looks now, you can change it at the barber Elio Rick.

Updraft: old or new

In the settings you can choose between the old (instant) updraft and the new one.

What we don't know yet

  • Whether and how dedicated servers change — Keen Games has said nothing about it.
  • Whether PS5 players can join PC servers — no official answer.
  • There is no crossplay at 1.0 — the developers want to add it in the future: "it will not be ready for 1.0".
