Story boss list in order
Each of these bosses gives a trophy for the recipe of the next Flame level (you upgrade it at the Flame Altar). The level column shows the biome's level range or the quest's recommended level.

| 7 | Hydrak'Dal | Veilwater Basin, near Orville ("Vengeance" quest from the Fisher) | biome 35–45 | Hydrak'Dal Head for Flame 9 |
| 8 | Vorgoth (final boss, new in 1.0) | Cinder's Cradle, Mother Flame's Domicile in the Ancient Citadel ("Cinders Of The End" quest) | 48 | Vorgoth's Eye for Flame 11, Shroud Vessel's Greatsword |
There is no boss between Hydrak'Dal and Vorgoth. Flame 10 needs the Broken Guard Of The North Crown relic from the Cromville throne room ("Crown Of Sorrow" quest). Only that level lets you into Cinder's Cradle.
Locations and drops for bosses 1–7 mostly come from the pre-1.0 wiki, and two wiki pages carry a note that drops changed in an update. All Things How (October 16, 2026) confirms the order and trophies, but Enshrouded Companion says the Flame 6–9 recipes in 1.0 are not verified yet. The changelog only says they are cheaper.
Scavenger Matron, Fell Monstrosity and Fell Sicklescythe also appear in other places (Elixir Wells, Shroud Roots, all the way to Veilwater Basin). Fell Wispwyvern (only at The Pike) and Fell Dragon Youngling (only on Howling Peak) are unique.
Optional bosses
They give no Flame level, but they have loot. Version 1.0 added head trophies for all heavy enemies.
| Boss | Where | Notes |

Game file data also lists a new Hollow Titan boss, but nobody has confirmed its location yet.
Cinder's Cradle: bosses in version 1.0
The new biome lies in the north, beyond the gates of Veilwater Basin. Enemies here are level 46–48. According to game file data (enshrouded.tools), Cinder's Cradle has 8 bosses, but Vorgoth is the only new unique one. The rest are stronger versions of known bosses (level 46–48): Armored Fell Thunderbrute (240 m east of Proto Vessel Bay), Fell Crimson Critter Queen (10 spots), Fell Cyclops (Ancient Ruin), Fell Monstrosity (Pink Glowing Ancient Ruins), Fell Sicklescythe, Fell Striker and Hydrak'Dal (100 m west of Small Drak'Dal Cave).
We cover the biome map and how to get there in the map and biomes guide.
Vorgoth: the final boss
The 1.0 changelog teases that "high up in the sky, evil is hiding its strongest champion yet". That is Vorgoth. You fight him in the Mother Flame's Domicile, the highest point on the map (2,529 m), at the end of the "Cinders Of The End" quest. He is level 48.
How to get there:
- In Cinder's Cradle, activate the 6 beacons in the dungeons ("Activating the Gate to the Stars" quest). The Springlands one comes first, the rest in any order. The teleporter then takes you to the floating islands.
- During "Reach The Ancient Capital" you defeat an Ancient S.P.D.R. Construct along the way.
- Use your glider and updrafts to reach MANATHOR'S PLAZA.
- Activate the two purple rune switches (upper level and outer ledge). "BARRIER UNLOCKED" appears.
- Glide to THE ANCIENT CITADEL and arrive with full health and supplies.
Phase 1: Vorgoth, Champion of the Shroud. A humanoid form: purple beam, blue Shroud tentacles, ice columns, a lunge and a jump with a shockwave. When he stops to heal, attack. The tentacles ignore wand shots, so destroy them with Fireball III from a staff or back off. Guides recommend a fast wand and the Protective Barrier spell.
Phase 2: Vorgoth, The Wanderer's Vessel. A much larger form. The arena darkens, a timer appears along with blue Shroud wraiths, plus twin beams and pillars near the walls. To escape the bursts near the walls, ride an updraft and glide along the outer wall.
Shroud damage does not work on Vorgoth. Check the damage type of your weapons and spells before the fight.
Rewards: Shroud Vessel's Greatsword, 2 Vorgoth's Eye (Flame 11), 4 Vorgoth's Bound Essence and 62 Legendary Runes. Flame 11 lets Flame Altars push back the Shroud.
Fell Dragon Youngling: the dragon on Howling Peak
The only dragon among the bosses. You wake it by lighting every Balefire around the innermost mountain. It takes less damage when it isn't stunned, so build up its stun bar first.
What version 1.0 changed:
- much less health ("substantial nerf"),
- a new phase: the exhausted dragon stands on the arena and you can hit it in melee,
- the weak point on its back works for every weapon, not just arrows,
- stun arrows and shock damage stun it much better than before,
- a wider arena, grappling hook anchors and the Shroud lowered below the fight area,
- the wing gust pushes you higher, so you have time to open your glider.
Tactics: reflect its fire meteors back, shoot Stun Arrows or cast Chain Lightning. When it leans its head back before breathing fire, fly to the other side of the platform. When it falls, deal as much damage as you can, then kill the vultures (Fell Draconian Vultures) and repeat. In 1.0 the vultures drop materials for stun arrows and lightning spells. If you catch fire, a dodge or Blink puts it out.
Quick tips for the other bosses
- Scavenger Matron: shoot from high ground. In 1.0 her poison area attack is weaker.
- Fell Wispwyvern: when it roars and summons beetles, hit it in the mouth. It then gets stunned and takes more damage.
- Fell Monstrosity: weak to fire, immune to the Shroud. Avoid the breath in front and attack from the side. The statues around the arena can release a Fell Berserker.
- Fell Cyclops: fire and Shroud work well, ice and blunt weapons poorly.
For the skill setup to handle all of this, see our 1.0 builds and which class to pick guides.
Do bosses respawn?
Yes, but the developers have not published any timer. Here is what we know:
- Unique story bosses are fixed encounters, while bosses that appear in many places (Fell Thunderbrute, Scavenger Matron) come back.
- Hollow Halls: in player tests from 2024, the first-floor boss came back after about 30–35 minutes, while regular enemies and chests did not. Other players say the timing is not consistent.
- Open world: players described enemies and resources returning after reloading the world or restarting the server. Twinfinite counted about 3 in-game days.
- Version 1.0: after you leave the combat area, a boss regains health slowly. If the whole party dies and comes back quickly, the boss will not have a full health bar.
The respawn data comes from Early Access and is not confirmed in 1.0. Whether Vorgoth respawns after you win is not known yet.
Boss difficulty settings
World settings have separate Boss Damage (20–500%) and Boss Health (20–400%) sliders. On "Relaxed" both are 50%, on "Hard" and "Survival" boss health is 150%. On a dedicated server: bossDamageFactor and bossHealthFactor (pre-1.0 wiki).
