Crossplay and cross-progression
The Xbox store puts it plainly: play with your friends without losing any progress thanks to couch co-op, crossplay and cross-progression on all platforms. Your character belongs to your Path of Exile account, not to the console. If you start on PC and move to PS5, you keep playing the same character.
How to link your account: log in at pathofexile.com and go to My Account → Connections. There you link Steam, Epic, PlayStation Network and your Xbox account. You need the same link to redeem pre-registration codes on console.
Purchases in GGG's shop are shared, with one limit. According to the Early Access FAQ, a stash tab bought on one platform works on another only in "remove only" mode. Buy cosmetics and stash tabs on the platform you play most.
Couch co-op (PS5 and Xbox)
On console, two people play together in front of one TV. According to GGG's FAQ, the second player creates a character on the same account, so both characters belong to the account owner. The second player does not need their own PoE account. There is no couch co-op on PC; there you play together online.
Online party of up to 6
The Steam description mentions co-op for up to 6 players. Thanks to crossplay, one party can include players on PC and on consoles.
PS Plus and Game Pass
- Xbox: the Microsoft Store says online multiplayer on console requires Xbox Game Pass Essential, Premium or Ultimate. Older descriptions mentioned Game Pass Core or Ultimate, but Microsoft has renamed its plans.
- PS5: PS Store has no information about PS Plus. Free-to-play games on PlayStation usually do not require PS Plus for online play. However, neither GGG nor Sony has confirmed this for PoE 2. We will check PS Store on launch day.
Languages on consoles
PS5 has the same languages as PC: voice acting only in English, and subtitles and interface also in German, French, Spanish, Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Korean and Thai. There is no Polish, Italian or Turkish. Details: Path of Exile 2 languages.
Controller on PC
The PC version has full controller support for Xbox and PlayStation controllers. Steam labels it "Full Controller Support", so on PC you can play with a controller without any extra software. More about the Steam Deck and hardware: system requirements and Steam Deck.
