PC requirements
According to the game's Steam page (October 16, 2026):
| Minimum | Recommended | |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 | Windows 10 |
| Processor | Intel Core i7-7700 / AMD Ryzen 5 2500X | Intel Core i5-10500 / AMD Ryzen 5 3700X |
| Memory | 8 GB | 16 GB |
| Graphics | GeForce GTX 960 (3 GB) / Radeon RX 470 / Intel Arc A380 | GeForce RTX 2060 / Radeon RX 5600 XT / Intel Arc A770 |
| DirectX | 12 | 12 |
| Storage | 100 GB | 100 GB, SSD recommended |
| Network | broadband | broadband |
Two notes from Steam: the graphics card needs at least 3 GB of memory, and an SSD is recommended. The game is online only; you cannot play without a connection, even solo.
These requirements are for Early Access. Version 1.0 adds two acts and a new class, so the game will grow. GGG has not published new requirements for December 11. Keep more than 100 GB free.
Path of Exile 2 vs Path of Exile 1
PoE 2 is much more demanding than its predecessor. PoE 1 runs on a GeForce GTX 650 Ti with DirectX 11, takes 40 GB and also has a macOS version. If your PC barely handles PoE 1, PoE 2 will need a stronger graphics card and more memory.
Steam Deck
Path of Exile 2 is rated "Verified" on Steam, meaning Valve has checked that the game runs on the Deck with default controls and a readable interface. Steam also says PoE 2 is one of the most played games on the Steam Deck. Path of Exile 1 has a lower rating, "Playable".
A copy from Epic or the GGG client has no Valve rating, so the simplest option is the Steam version.
Mac
There is no official macOS version of Path of Exile 2. Steam lists only Windows requirements. In 2024 GGG wrote that PoE 2 would not be on Mac at the start of Early Access, but the studio was "keen to add support". There has been no newer announcement. Some players run the game through CrossOver, but GGG does not support it.
Controller on PC
Steam labels PoE 2 with full controller support (Xbox and PlayStation controllers). You can play with a controller on PC without any extra software. About playing on PS5 and Xbox: crossplay, cross-progression and co-op.
