This is not game data. An Enshrouded build tier list is an author's opinion, not a measurement. None of the sources we read showed damage tests on version 1.0. Treat them as advice from several players, not as a scoreboard.
Why tier lists exist after 1.0 when they did not before
In our guide to which class to pick we wrote about "fake tier lists". We meant rankings from before 1.0, which described a game with an older wand, older spells and an older skill tree. Since the launch on October 15, 2026, the situation is different: rankings made for 1.0 now exist. The problem did not go away, it changed: the lists disagree with each other, and some are copies of others.
That is why we do not publish one "official" tier list of our own. We show who ranks what and where it overlaps.
Who made a ranking
| Author | Date | Format |
|---|---|---|
| HackTheMinotaur 2 (YouTube and site) | October 18, 2026 | ranking of 7 builds from 1 to 7, criteria: damage, survivability, ease of play |
| enshroudedbuilds.org (fan site) | October 16, 2026, reviewed October 20 | tiers S, A and B, checked on version 1.0.0.2 |
| Soul Kings (YouTube) | October 16, 2026 | only 3 recommended builds, no tiers. Sponsored video by Keen Games, the author had early access to 1.0 |
| AOEAH (shop site) | October 19, 2026 | tiers S-C, but it is derived from HackTheMinotaur 2 and Soul Kings: same builds, same reasoning |
So the truly independent material is two full lists (HackTheMinotaur 2 and enshroudedbuilds.org) and three builds from Soul Kings. AOEAH agreeing with HackTheMinotaur 2 is not a second confirmation. Mobalytics (October 19) has no tier list, only three build guides: Fireball Battlemage, Paladin and Stealth Archer.
Who ranks what where
| Build | HackTheMinotaur 2 | enshroudedbuilds.org | AOEAH (derived) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Battlemage | rank 1 | S | S |
| Archer / Ranger | rank 2 | A | S |
| Barbarian (two-handed) | rank 3 | S | S |
| Summoner / Necromancer | rank 4 | S | A |
| Wizard (staff) | rank 5 | S | B |
| Assassin (daggers) | rank 6 | B | C |
| Warrior (sword and shield) | rank 7 | A | C |
| Tank | not listed | A | not listed |
| Healer | not listed | A | not listed |
Tank and Healer get an A only because, as enshroudedbuilds.org puts it, they shine in a group. HackTheMinotaur 2 does not rank them.
Where they agree
Battlemage on top. HackTheMinotaur 2 gives it rank 1 and calls it the easiest build to pick up from level 1 to 50. The reason is the new Aerial Wand Attack skill (hover and area damage, castable during a backward jump). enshroudedbuilds.org points to another strength: Unity and Arcane Deflection give almost unlimited mana. The downside per HackTheMinotaur 2: the wand grows slowly early on and has a short range. Details in the mage build guide.
Assassin low. Rank 6 of 7, B and C. The reason is the same everywhere: stealth is hard to use on groups and bosses. enshroudedbuilds.org notes that Sneak Attack gives +900%, but low armor makes life hard.
Barbarian high. The two-handed build gets rank 3 and two S grades. HackTheMinotaur 2 calls it the strongest melee build (Battle Heal and life steal), and its weakness is reach. See the warrior and barbarian build.
Where they split
- Warrior (sword and shield). HackTheMinotaur 2 puts it last at rank 7: the simplest style, but the "benefits drop off quickly", and ranged and flying enemies are a problem. enshroudedbuilds.org gives it an A and calls it the best for beginners. AOEAH says C. Players are split too: on Reddit, in the thread about the best early game build in 1.0, sword and shield is called "most versatile".
- Wizard. From S (enshroudedbuilds.org, best area damage) down to rank 5 (HackTheMinotaur 2: "incredibly strong at end game, but a lot of work", slow casting of up to 4 seconds, the lowest health).
- Summoner (new in 1.0). enshroudedbuilds.org: S. HackTheMinotaur 2: only rank 4 because of mana cost and slow casting, even though totems deal a lot of damage. Soul Kings shows its own version, the Night King, a necromancer with ice skeletons.
- Archer. Rank 2 at HackTheMinotaur 2 ("arguably number one", explosive arrows stun bosses), A at enshroudedbuilds.org. Everyone agrees on the price: a slow start and a lot of arrow crafting. Steam players write that the bow "explodes in power" once you reach the level 10 biome. See the archer build guide.
- Paladin. HackTheMinotaur 2 does not rank it, but Soul Kings makes it one of its three builds (Infinite Paladin, a tank-mage), and Mobalytics has a separate guide.
How to use this
- Start with Battlemage if you want the safe answer. All the lists agree there.
- Pick by taste, not by letter. The difference between S and A in these lists is an author's sentence, not a number. A Steam commenter summed it up as: no truly bad builds, only builds that do not work with you.
- Playing co-op? A solo tier list says little about a group. Check the tank and healer build.
- Check your point budget in the guide to the skill tree and to weapons and armor for your chosen build. You can reset the tree at a Flame Altar, so a mistake is not forever. An overview of all five builds is in the builds for beginners article.
The lists were written in the first days after launch, on versions 1.0.0.0 and 1.0.0.2. They may change after later patches. If you see a "best build" elsewhere, check the date and whether the author copied another list.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best build in Enshrouded 1.0?
According to creator rankings, most often Battlemage (wand). HackTheMinotaur 2 gives it rank 1, enshroudedbuilds.org tier S. That is an opinion, not a measurement.
Is there a class tier list for Enshrouded?
The game has no classes, only one skill tree with branches you combine. The "classes" in rankings are sets of branches and weapons, such as Battlemage, Wizard or Barbarian. Searching for "beste Klasse" or "meilleur build"? The rankings we collected are in English.
Which build is the weakest?
Assassin. HackTheMinotaur 2 puts it 6th of 7, enshroudedbuilds.org B, AOEAH C. Warrior is disputed: from last place up to tier A.
Why do the lists differ so much?
Authors use different criteria (damage, survivability, ease of play) and play differently, solo or in a group. Nobody measured damage in 1.0. Some lists are also copies of others.
Is the Soul Kings video reliable?
It is an interesting tour of three builds, but the video is sponsored by Keen Games, so treat it as a showcase, not an independent rating.
