Does Phantom Blade Zero have multiplayer or co-op
No. Steam describes the game as single player and lists no multiplayer, cooperative or PvP mode. The GameFAQs entry for the PS5 version says the same: one local player, no online multiplayer.
The strongest evidence is a statement from the creator. Soulframe Liang, the game's director, spoke to Wccftech on October 8, 2026 about balancing 30 main weapons and added: "Fortunately, we aren't making a PvP or multiplayer game." It is the most recent statement we have.
What about the 2023 multiplayer promise
Honesty matters here. In a Q&A on July 28, 2023, Liang was asked whether the campaign could be played in co-op. He said the story cannot be experienced cooperatively, because he wants it to be a "very pure narrative and immersive journey", but that the studio would "design multiplayer experiences for some endgame content". Media at the time wrote about multiplayer dungeons after the campaign.
Where things stand today:
- the Steam page lists no multiplayer mode of any kind,
- in 2026 Liang says this is not a PvP or multiplayer game,
- the studio has not published a formal statement that the 2023 plans were dropped.

- Eight endings. They depend on side quests and on what you carry at key moments of the story.
