What to buy in PoE 2: best stash tabs

Updated: 6 min read

Buying order at a glance

Players and guides agree on the start. After that it depends on what annoys you in the game:

  1. Currency Stash Tab (75 points): saves a ton of space and shows how much currency you have. Maxroll puts it first.
  2. A trading tab: Merchant's Tab (40) or Premium Stash Tab (40), depending on how you sell (see below).
  3. Map Stash Tab (150): according to Maxroll a "must have" in the endgame once you map every day. You do not need it for the campaign.
  4. Augment Stash Tab (50): makes sense when runes and soul cores clog your regular tabs. Maxroll calls it not important if you buy most socketables from the Currency Exchange.
  5. Fragment Stash Tab (75): when keys and tablets start piling up.
  6. The rest (Unique Collection Tab, Gem, Essence, Premium Quad) are "nice-to-haves" according to Maxroll. You can play and enjoy the game without them.

Maxroll also notes that someone with 1000 tabs has no real advantage over someone with 20. Tabs are convenience, not character power.

Stash tab prices in the shop

List prices from the PoE 2 shop on 17.10.2026, in points (10 points = 1 USD):

Stash TabPointsWhat it is for
Currency Stash Tab75spots for many kinds of currency, up to 5000 of each
Merchant's Tab40selling items while you are away (asynchronous trade)
Premium Stash Tab40a tab you can set to public, rename and recolour
Upgrade to Premium Stash Tab15turns one regular tab into Premium, cheaper than buying a new one
Extra Stash Tab30one more regular tab
Map Stash Tab150Waystones, 6 sub-stashes per tier
Fragment Stash Tab75keys, tablets and Ascension trial keys (since version 0.5.0)
Augment Stash Tab50runes, soul cores, idols and other augments
Premium Quad Stash Tab150four times the space of a regular tab
Unique Collection Tab140one of each unique item
Gem, Flask, Essence, Delirium, Ritual, Breach, Expedition, Abyss Stash Tab40tabs for a specific item type or league mechanic

A Basic Stash Tab is 12x12 and every account gets four for free. Maxroll calls the game one "with a box price", because storage gets tricky with the four default tabs.

What to buy with 300 points

The Early Access Supporter Pack for 30 USD gives 300 points, a soundtrack and a game key. The points come at the standard 1:10 rate. Two example builds (our own arithmetic from list prices):

  • Endgame build: Currency 75 + Merchant's Tab 40 + Map 150 = 265 points. 35 are left, enough for an Upgrade to Premium Stash Tab (15).
  • No-mapping build: Currency 75 + Merchant's Tab 40 + Premium 40 + Fragment 75 + Augment 50 = 280 points. 20 are left.

If you only sell through the Currency Exchange, you can skip the Merchant's Tab and put the saved 40 points towards the Map Stash Tab.

What you need for trading

  • A Premium Stash Tab (or any special tab) lets you set a tab to public. A regular tab cannot be public. Buyers then message you and you invite them to your party (direct trade).
  • The Merchant's Tab gives asynchronous trade: it sells while you are away. You unlock it in Act 4 with Ange and you need a Hideout. Every item is priced individually, in one currency. Your earnings land in a remove-only Earnings tab. The buyer pays the Gold Tax, not you. The Merchant's Tab does not work in Solo Self-Found.
  • The Currency Exchange, for trading currency, runes, essences and similar stackable items, needs no paid tab at all. You cannot sell currency through the Merchant's Tab.

The Premium Quad Stash Tab does not get the free conversion to a Merchant's Tab. And only Premium tabs bought before August 29, 2025 can be converted for free. More on trading: trading in PoE 2.

Bundles: sum of parts versus price

BundlePriceShop "sum"
Stash Tab Bundle150180
Merchant's Tab Bundle200240
Premium Stash Tab Bundle200240
Exile's Stash Bundle605810

The discount runs from about 17% to about 25%, so a bundle only makes sense if you really need everything in it. The Merchant's Tab Bundle is in practice 6 tabs at 40 each (Maxroll: "6 for 200").

According to GGG the Exile's Stash Bundle contains the Breach, Expedition, Currency, Merchant's, Unique Collection, Fragment, Flask and Gem Tab. At list prices those eight tabs cost 490 points separately (our own arithmetic), while the bundle costs 605, so the shop's "sum" of 810 suggests a wider content than GGG's announcement. Check the bundle contents in the shop before buying. One player on the GGG forum (August 2026) says "almost no one should be buying that bundle". Tabs from the bundle that you already own are duplicated with no refund of points (a player's report, not confirmed by GGG).

Sales

According to the wiki and Game8, stash tab sales happen roughly every three weeks and last a few days. The last one ended on October 6, 2026. GGG does not announce dates in advance, so do not plan a purchase around a specific day. Maxroll advises buying during a sale, usually right after a big update.

An example from the last sale (poedb): Currency 75 → 60, Premium 40 → 30, Upgrade to Premium 15 → 10, Fragment 75 → 55, Map 150 → 120. The Merchant's Tab was not on that list, so do not count on a discount for it.

How long tabs last and what happens when a league ends

  • A tab stays on your account forever and works in every league, including future ones.
  • Contents are separate in every league. In a new league your tabs are empty. When it ends, the old items move to "remove only" tabs in Standard, where you can take them out (according to GGG).
  • Points and part of your purchases are shared between PoE 1 and PoE 2. A tab bought in PoE 1 works in PoE 2 if that type exists in both games (e.g. the Breach Stash Tab exists only in PoE 2).
  • Tabs do not carry over between PC and PlayStation: purchases made on Sony platforms only work on Sony (Maxroll). PC and Xbox are interchangeable with the right sub-account.

Is a Supporter Pack worth it

We found no official verdict and no media comparison after the free-to-play announcement. Facts for your own decision: the 30 USD pack gives points at the same rate as plain point packs (50, 100 and 200 points for 5, 10 and 20 USD), so there is no discount on points. You are paying extra for a soundtrack and an Early Access key that stops being needed after December 11, 2026, when the game is free. If you only want tabs, plain points are cheaper. Packs with cosmetics are a separate decision.

What about version 1.0

On December 11, 2026 Path of Exile 2 leaves Early Access as a free game. GGG has not announced any shop changes (as of 17.10.2026): the page still sells Early Access packs. Wccftech writes that tabs will carry over to 1.0 characters, but that is the site's interpretation, not a GGG announcement. We will check it against the 1.0 patch notes. Meanwhile see free to play and Early Access.
