- The Midnight Edition is available digitally and physically (PS5, Xbox, Switch). The physical version has the same contents.
- At select retailers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa the physical Midnight Edition comes with a SteelBook. There is also a Rose tarot card (art by Katsuya Terada) while stocks last. These are retailer extras, not part of the edition. Ask your local store.
- Family's Grace is a relic (an item with a combat effect). KONAMI has not described exactly what it does.
Is the upgrade worth it? The difference is $10 / €10. You get two costumes, the soundtrack and one relic. Costumes only change how Rose looks. If you only care about the game, the Standard Edition is enough.
Pre-order bonus: the Alucard Style costume
Pre-ordering the digital version or buying the physical version early gets you the Alucard Style costume. This applies to every edition. KONAMI calls it an early purchase bonus and has not said until when it is available. Players on Steam are asking whether it is still included after launch. Check the description in your store before buying.
Every costume for Rose (7)
| Costume | How to get it |
|---|---|
| Rose's Outfit | default, from the start |
| Sonia Style | Konami code in a menu (below) |
| Cursed's Outfit | get the bad ending |
| shadow costume (Doppelganger) | defeat your shadow in the Gallery of the Four Virtues |
| Alucard Style | pre-order / early purchase bonus |
| Trevor Style | Midnight Edition |
| Sypha Style | Midnight Edition |
- Cursed's Outfit: you get the bad ending when you use the glowing clock on the Clock Tower bridge without the Soul Harvest spell equipped. The game does not tell you about the new costume. You will only find it in the costume menu after you resume playing. Details: endings.
- Shadow costume: you get it together with The Self card after the fight with Rose's shadow, which you also need for the true ending. Sportskeeda calls it the "Doppelganger Costume".
Konami code: the Sonia costume
The Sonia Style costume is unlocked with the classic Konami code. Enter it in a menu (most reliably on the main menu, before loading a save):
| Platform | Code |
|---|---|
| PlayStation | ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → X, O |
| Xbox | ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → A, B |
| Switch | ↑ ↑ ↓ ↓ ← → ← → B, A |
When the code is right, a message confirms the costume is unlocked. Sportskeeda lists the last two inputs as dodge, jump. If you changed your button layout and the code does not work, swap the last two buttons (a tip from players on Steam).
The Konami code only gives the costume, no other help. Assists come from a separate Custom Mode. Its menu warns that some achievements become unobtainable once it is on.
How to change your costume
- Load your game.
- Open the pause menu.
- Go to the System tab (top right corner).
- Choose Character Skin and pick a costume.
